Waste Water
The Narragansett Bay Commission (NBC) was statutorily created in 1980 by R.I.G.L. 46-25-1 and was defined as a public utility under R.I.G.L. Title 39. As such, the NBC falls under the regulatory jurisdiction of the Division of Public Utilities and Carriers and the Public Utilities Commission. NBC is the only wastewater treatment facility in the state regulated by the Division and/or the Commission.
